Decluttering

I often looked in wonder at people who declutter regularly…. And what we see is the physical decluttering: they go through their houses and clean, clean, clean, letting go of years of memories…. So, what amazes me is that I realise that our environment is a reflection of what we are, what stage we are at inside. So, from that realisation, I then wonder: when do we declutter mentally, emotionally, spiritually? For some they do it through talking with partners or friends. But some people like their own company.

I experimented a few things: like sitting and meditating, breathing, visualising…. All very good ways. However there was still something that I felt I was “doing” too much. That’s when I came upon Ho’oponopono. With these four phrases, you do not analyse. You recognise and name if it comes up, the emotion. Then you feel your inner child, the one that got programmed and is the survivor with all the techniques used since I was a kid. Then I tell my inner child:

I am sorry ( that you feel you have to save me with old programmation again)

Please forgive me ( that my emotions are still built from my old programs, and that you have to take the wheel)

Thank you (for always having my back and reminding what I have to see about myself and accept)

I love you ( for all that you always have done and still do for me, and now I can take the wheel as an adult)

This is my twist on this ancient method. It makes me feel present and acknowledging all those shadows about me. The more I see the more I let go….

So, this is how I do my mental, emotional, spiritual decluttering….

How do you do yours?
